... The Worlds Foremost Authority on Just About Anything
“Most people go through life and experience the same thing a thousand times – a lucky few experience a thousand different things!” I firmly believe that I am one of the latter.

What A Day!
Ella, the infamous labradoodle, has been chasing sheep into the midden again!! The problem is that the sheep gat stuck and Ella then prances about barking at them. Of course, as the midden is a huge pile of Poo, Ella is black up to the elbows. Do dogs have elbows?
Then the wool man turned up to load 9 bails of wool. As he was in an artic (semi?) he could not turn around and it took us 6 hours, 2 tractors and demolishing 20 yards of stone wall to get him away. I am shattered and will spend a little time playing cards at online casinos.

Well How Things Change
I am now living several hundred miles from where I was in a farm on 130 acres with a river running below it which is allegedly full of trout and the odd salmon and has not been fished seriously for about 10 years. I am now really working at a farm holiday.

What a Night!
1st August 2008
During the early hours (03.00 am) of this morning we had the most incredible storm. We had been lucky enough to have had 2 to 3 days of hot (for us) weather and were suffering with a hot sticky night when the skies opened and we had torrential rain. This was accompanied by thunder and lightning which is fairly uncommon in the north of England. It must have been noisy as it woke me and one of my proudest boasts is that I slept through The Great Storm of 1987 when our next door neighbours greenhouse was swept over our garden to our other neighbours. Only once before have I experienced anything similar and that was when I was fortunate enough to spend some time in Deer, Arkansas in 2006. On my first night in the cabin the storm was so bright that it was possible to read by despite being after midnight. This, I was told later, is not that uncommon.
Labradoodles Rule!
31st July 2008
I am sitting here in the office working away as my labradoodle has become 'precious' as she is now the star of a web site. Now she refuses to leave 'my' armchair and I have been relegated to the office.
